Build Smarter, Not Harder – Step In as Factory Superintendent!

Department: Production
Location: Houston, TX

ROXBOX – Turning Steel Boxes into Game-Changing Spaces

You don’t chase chaos—you eliminate its causes.

You thrive in a system that runs like a well-oiled machine. You see waste before others even know it's there. You’re not just a manager of people—you’re a builder of processes, habits, and culture. And you’re ready to bring that mindset to a modular production floor where speed, safety, and quality depend on smart systems and strong leadership.

At ROXBOX, we design and build custom modular solutions using shipping containers and steel-framed components. We’re looking for a Lean-minded, process-driven Factory Superintendent to lead our Houston manufacturing facility into its next phase of growth. If you’ve ever said, “Let’s fix the process before we automate it,” we want to talk to you.

What Makes You the Right Fit (AKA Your Superpowers):

  • 5+ years leading production teams in modular, prefab, or construction environments
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing concepts like 5S, standard work, and waste reduction (bonus: experience supporting CI teams or implementing field-level improvements)
  • Strong with BOMs, shop drawings, labor tracking, and pull-based scheduling
  • Deep understanding of construction methods and sequencing related to modular or prefabricated building.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex construction drawings and specifications, with specific emphasis on structural and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards applicable to modular construction.
  • Experience with quality control processes and inspections in a construction setting."
  • Ability to troubleshoot construction issues and provide practical solutions in a timely manner.
  • Comfortable facilitating stand-up meetings and standardizing work
  • Adept with digital tools—spreadsheets, dashboards, and project tracking systems
  • You earn trust through clear communication, consistent follow-through, and data-driven decisions
  • You don’t just hit KPIs—you build the systems that make them inevitable

What You’ll Own & Improve:

  • Problem Solver-in-Chief — Proactively identify and resolve production issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring project timelines are met. Lead root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Crew Leader & Developer — Effectively manage and motivate production teams. Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance skills and performance. Address and resolve team conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
  • Task & Schedule Owner – Keep production aligned with daily/weekly takt goals. You’ll know what’s due, who’s on it, and where adjustments are needed to stay on track.
  • Flow Facilitator Design and maintain a smooth production flow across trades and workstations. Eliminate friction, downtime, and double-handling.
  • Waste Watcher Spot and help eliminate non-value-added steps. Provide feedback to the team when you see friction or flow problems.
  • Labor & Time Tracker Monitor hours by task, by team member, and by job. Use real-time feedback to optimize crew balance and reduce overages.
  • Material Readiness Gatekeeper Ensure builds never start without the materials, tools, and information required. Manage inventory with precision and collaborate upstream to prevent delays.
  • Drawing Verifier & Feedback Loop Closer Review construction drawings, flag disconnects early, and collaborate with design and estimating to close the loop between plan and reality.
  • Lean Execution Leader Reinforce standard work, visual controls, and 5S practices. Support CI initiatives and help implement process changes led by others.
  • Culture Builder Foster a culture of accountability, improvement, and pride in workmanship. Support and coach your team in daily 5S, safety, and performance huddles.

Job Details:
